Over 200 national, state, and local organizations are urging Chair Fitzpatrick, Vice Chair Malliotakis, and the members of the Working Families Tax Team to expand the Child Tax Credit (CTC) in the upcoming 2025 tax negotiations. They propose making the CTC fully refundable, increasing the maximum credit, and removing income limits that prevent low-income families from accessing the full benefits. They also recommend an option for monthly installments, increasing the size of the credit for families with newborns, and indexing the size of the credit to inflation. These changes and more are critical in the fight against rising child poverty and ensuring financial stability for families across the nation.
